Day 4 – Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage – Hosshinmon-oji to Hongu (Yunomine). By far the easiest section of our walk. For the most part flat, with a variety of paved, cobblestone, & natural pathways. 7kms in total with plenty of time to take in the natural beauty and serenity of the surrounds, ending at the town of Hongu, the spiritual centre of the Kumano area. Our reward is a soak in the hotspring resort of Yunomine Onsen, Japan’s oldest onsen town. Accommodation is at J-Hoppers Guesthouse.
