This English speaking café is housed in a renovated traditional Kyoto “Machiya” townhouse. Popular with not only guests staying at the Inn, but also local residents who come to soak up the ambience, exchange information or just enjoy some banter with the Australian owner over the bar counter.

On offer is authentic espresso coffee from locally roasted beans, Full “English” Breakfast, Cakes & Pastries plus Free Wi-Fi.

Just a short bus ride from Kyoto Station, Jam Jar’s location makes it ideal for jumping on and off the various tourist buses that circle the city visiting many of Kyoto’s world renowned sites. You will be in walking distance of the beautiful Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Ryoanji Temple and its famed “Zen Garden”, as well as Kyoto’s oldest geisha district (Kamishichiken).

The nearby train that transports you to Arashiyama’s enchanting bamboo forest is an added bonus for those who appreciate nature.
